Villa Sanyanga won the award for best vacation rental in Phuket, for 2011, awarded by Flipkey, which is the villa vacation rental arm of Tripadvisor.
We are very proud of this, and realise that in large part it is due to Lily, who is our villa manager, chef and house-keeper. She looks after our guests with such care, looking after them perfectly, making sure their holiday runs smoothly. In addition to this she organises transport, masseuses, tailors etc, and cooks absolutely delicious meals for our guests, even giving cooking demonstrations, so they can learn all about Thai cooking. She is well qualified for this, because she actually ran a Thai cooking school in Hong Kong for many years.

Phuket town is somewhere to go at least for one day, you will see a real contrast with the beach tourist Phuket. It is hard to say that I wish I could have spend more time there as we mainly come to enjoy the beach and sun but it is definitly different and nice to go for food and market

.If you have time then Old Phuket town is a great place to visit. We spent some time taking in the gorgeous old buildings that are centuries old and getting a taste of Thai culture. If you are game enough definitely try some food from the street vendors. Thalong road is the place to go.

Phuket Town has everything. There is Old Phuket, with its old beautiful buildings and arty streets and shops. Markets bustling with fresh fruits, vegetables, and everything else under the sun. Plenty of great shopping opportunities. Amazing photography opportunities. Yummy restaraunts and cafes at every corner. Art galleries…. It’s all here and really easily accessible!

Make sure you go to the night market at Phuket Town on Saturday night, The market opens at 5pm and goes till 10pm – although we only stayed till about 8.30. We walked for miles up and down the alleyways of stalls. Great for shopping for all clothes, shoes, accessories etc, but make sure you bargain hard

We had great fun visiting Phuket town on a Sunday evening. The weekend market is really really good- lots of street food, fruits, juices and of course fake designer stuff. The prices were really competitive. Very good atmosphere and good fun. We then went to the town and had a lovely italian meal. Some very good restaurants in the town…

We had an AMAZING holiday at Villa Sanyanga, and
our expectations were exceeded on all dimensions. Lily is a wonderful
housekeeper, she looked after all our various needs seamlessly (food,
sightseeing etc) and was so thoughtful in taking care of every little
details (too many to count!). We and our helpers also enjoyed the many
impromptu cooking demo/classes as we watched Lily preparing our
delicious meals. The team of staff are also very friendly, responsible
and professional. The villa is beautiful, stunning views, very
comfortable with all amenities thoughtfully provided. We especially
loved the outdoor sound-system and the round outdoor sala by the pool!
Suffice to say it was a perfect family holiday, we can’t wait to visit
again and have already been recommending it to our friends! Thanks
once again,
Best regards
Sara

“Really enjoyed the evening”

“One of the best days in Phuket is simply exploring this town…”

My boyfriend and I stayed in Karon, and took a local bus into Phuket Town. Do not be fooled when the Tuk Tuk drivers try to tell you “there nothing to see in Phuket Town. I take you to Big Buddah ra ra ra…” There is SO much to see, even if you just spend the day wondering throughout the little streets and alleyways, through the markets and food vendor stalls, into shops and little corner markets, into galleries or back alley ways… Enjoy the foods, the sights, the old buildings and the smells. Spend as little, or as much as you like. Its really something refreshing, compared to the craziness of say, Patong’s Bangla Road…
Weekend Market in Phuket
Make sure you go to the night market at Phuket Town on Saturday night, The market opens at 5pm and goes till 10pm – although we only stayed till about 8.30. We walked for miles up and down the alleyways of stalls. Great for shopping for all clothes, shoes, accessories etc, but make sure you bargain hard and you will pick up some great bargains! A good example is T-shirts with name brands like Diesel, Billabong, Hurley etc for 200 baht. I also really enjoyed the food – great honey garlic chicken nibbles for 10 baht each and sushi for 5 baht per piece!!!
